KOTA KINABALU:Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor today received a courtesy call from the United Kingdom High Commissioner to Malaysia, His Excellency Ajay Sharma, at his office in Menara Kinabalu here.
The meeting marked Sharma’s inaugural courtesy call on the Chief Minister since assuming his post in April 2025, and served as his formal introductory visit to the Sabah State Government.
Welcoming the High Commissioner to Sabah, Hajiji expressed confidence that the longstanding relationship between Sabah and the United Kingdom would continue to flourish through closer cooperation, sustained engagement and mutual understanding.

Sharma brings more than three decades of diplomatic experience to the role, having previously served as British Ambassador to Qatar and held several senior positions within the United Kingdom’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Also present at the meeting were Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Federal Territories), Datuk Lo Su Fui, and Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, Datuk Ceasar Mandela Malakun.
