RM1.5 million approved for jetty upgrade in Kunak

Hajiji is greeted by attendees at the event.

KUNAK: The State Government has approved RM1.5 million to construct and upgrade the jetty in Kampung Pangkalan, Kunak, with relevant agencies tasked to conduct a detailed study on the development scope.

Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor announced this during his official visit to Kunak on Monday, themed “Building Kunak’s Future”, held at Padang Pekan.

He also confirmed that three villages — Kampung Bagiang, Kampung Kunak Jaya and Kampung Selamat — will be gazetted as village reserves, having previously been under the Sabah Housing and Urban Development Board (LPPB).

Hajiji emphasised the government’s ongoing commitment to people’s welfare through initiatives such as SMJ housing for those in need and urged continued support for GRS representatives in Kunak.

He cautioned the public against opposition rhetoric and misinformation on social media, urging them not to be misled by false claims.
