US Ambassador pays farewell visit to Sabah Chief Minister

KOTA KINABALU: Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor on Thursday received a farewell courtesy call from the United States Ambassador to Malaysia, His Excellency Edgard D. Kagan, at his office in Menara Kinabalu.

During the meeting, Hajiji expressed his appreciation to Kagan for his dedicated service throughout his tenure in Malaysia, particularly for his efforts in strengthening bilateral relations and promoting Sabah’s profile at the international level.

“I would like to thank His Excellency for the strong cooperation forged during his time in Malaysia, including his support in highlighting Sabah’s unique strengths and vast potential to the global community,” he said.

The Chief Minister noted that such diplomatic engagement has contributed positively towards enhancing mutual understanding and cooperation between Sabah and the United States.

Meanwhile, Ambassador Kagan congratulated Hajiji on his reappointment as Chief Minister of Sabah, describing his leadership as vital in ensuring continued stability, good governance and sustainable development for the state.

The farewell visit reflected the warm and constructive relationship between the Sabah State Government and the United States, built on shared values and mutual respect.
