Masidi receives courtesy visit from ConocoPhillips delegation

KOTA KINABALU: Sabah Deputy Chief Minister II and State Minister of Finance, Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Masidi Manjun, today received a courtesy visit from a delegation of US-based multinational energy company ConocoPhillips at his office.

The delegation was led by ConocoPhillips Malaysia President, Connor Dunn. The meeting aimed to further strengthen bilateral relations while discussing current developments and potential strategic cooperation within Sabah’s oil and gas sector.

During the session, Masidi was briefed on ConocoPhillips’ operational direction and future plans, including matters related to operational safety, regulatory compliance, environmental sustainability, and the company’s continued commitment to responsible and sustainable energy development.

Masidi underscored the importance of ongoing collaboration between the Sabah State Government and industry players to ensure the oil and gas sector remains a key pillar of the state’s economy. He noted that such partnerships are vital in driving economic growth, creating employment opportunities for Sabahans, and delivering long-term benefits to the people.

The courtesy call reflected the strong working relationship between the Sabah State Government and ConocoPhillips, as well as their shared commitment to enhancing strategic cooperation towards building a more competitive and sustainable energy ecosystem in the state.

Also present at the meeting were ConocoPhillips Malaysia Vice President for Government Affairs and Development Engineering, Ian Lim; SMJ Energy Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Dr Dionysia Kibat; SMJ Energy Executive Director (Upstream), Datuk Albert Lo; and SMJ Energy Director for OGSE and Corporate Affairs, Terry Biusing.
