KOTA KINABALU:Chief Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Haji Hajiji Haji Noor has reminded Community Development Leaders (PPM) to carry out their responsibilities with the highest level of integrity, stressing that they serve as representatives of the State Government in their respective constituencies.
He said PPMs assigned to opposition-held areas, in particular, shoulder a greater responsibility in earning the people’s confidence in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)-led State Government.

“Beyond carrying out government directives, your role in opposition constituencies is especially demanding. You are the eyes and ears of the government. Perform your duties professionally and responsibly,” he said.
Hajiji made the remarks after officiating the second phase oath-taking ceremony involving 35 PPMs, most of whom will be deployed to opposition constituencies, at Menara Kinabalu here today.
Earlier, 45 PPMs were sworn in during the first phase ceremony held on January 13.
He warned that PPMs must uphold the image of the State Government at all times and refrain from abusing their positions for personal gain.

“If I find anyone placing personal interests above the welfare of the people, I will not hesitate to terminate their appointment. Do not misuse your authority — priority must be given to those who genuinely require assistance,” he said.
The Chief Minister also reiterated that PPMs play a crucial role in explaining government policies, initiatives and achievements under the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development roadmap to the grassroots.
Also present at the ceremony were Cabinet ministers and Director of the PPM Unit, Datuk Awang Kadin Tang.
