TAWAU: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (Gagasan Rakyat) Information Chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal should accept that Parti Warisan is no longer the choice of the people in Sabah.
“The support of Warisan members and leaders is fading, causing many to leave the party.
“In fact, in his Semporna parliamentary constituency many members and leaders have already announced joining Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) components,” said Nizam, who is also Apas Assemblyman, at a ‘Mangrove Tree Planting’ programme.
He said Shafie’s statement denying 3,400 leaders and members from 69 Warisan branches in Semporna left the party was to cover up his own weaknesses.
“He (Shafie) actually knows that almost all areas in the state including Semporna have rejected Warisan and want to be with the current government,” he said.
Nizam, who is also Assistant Minister to the Chief Minister, said he has been in contact with people who joined Gagasan Rakyat, including the former Warisan Semporna Division Deputy Chief.
“I also understand many Warisan members and branches want to join Gagasan Rakyat.
“We can see that the support of Warisan in Sabah is fading day by day because the people have started to realise that only the current State Government can safeguard their interests and rights,” he said.
